Christmas is a magical time of year, with all the lights and nativity. There's excitement in the air. Families are getting together. The house is filled with laughter. There's tasty food on the table and presents under the tree. There is so much love it is like Jesus is sitting right here with us and he is, his presence can be felt as real as the air we breathe, but can you imagine some 2000 years ago being a young couple having to make a long trip and she is 9 months pregnant. You do not have a lot of money, but you managed to scrape up just enough money for food and a motel. Then when you get there all the motels are full. The only place you can find refuge is in a barn filled with animals. A stinky old barn, which is cold and damp. You are hoping to just need to get through the night, but she goes into labor with the only place to lay her baby is in a feed trough. That baby is the savior of the entire world. The baby was Jesus. He is 100% man and 100% God.
He came showing us no matter where we come from or where we are he can give us a love that never leaves us. Jesus came as a baby that through him we can have eternal life and have the best life possible here on earth. All you have to do is say Jesus forgive me and I now accept you as my Lord and Savior Amen.
